What’s your teaching philosophy?
I believe that a collaborative classroom is where everyone learns from each other – encouraging students to ask questions, seek answers and probe for details. My goal is having students make relevant connections between literature and the larger world.

What excites you about The Academy at Penguin Hall?
Always looking to the future, I am thrilled to be part of the founding faculty at The Academy. I liken this journey to that of Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean who once said, “Adventure is worthwhile in itself.”

Share something unique about yourself.
Once upon a time, I worked in Hollywood and spent five years as a script development executive and earned an Associate Producer credit on the Christmas classic “The Santa Clause” starring Tim Allen.
