Jana Nadolski

Social Emotional Learning Coordinator and Counselor

Jana is the Social Emotional Learning Coordinator and Counselor at Penguin Hall, where she brings a strength-based, creative approach to working with students. Jana graduated in 2011 from Lesley University with a MA in Expressive Therapies, specializing in Art Therapy, and has been trained in using many different therapeutic modalities, including sand tray, trauma informed yoga, equine therapy, and horticulture therapy. Since 2013 Jana has been licensed as an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) and ATR (Registered Art Therapist).

Following graduate school Jana worked for 13 years at the Solstice Day School in Rowley, MA as the art therapist and clinician serving adolescents with social and emotional challenges in a therapeutic high school setting. While at Solstice she developed the art therapy program, and partnered with community programs such as Project Adventure and Express Yourself to bring experiential learning and performing arts to the school. Additionally, Jana was an adjunct professor at Lesley University for 5 years teaching the graduate supervision course, and continues to provide licensure supervision.

Along with her clinical background, Jana is passionate about athletics. She has played and coached soccer for most of her life, coaching at Andover Soccer Camp and Presentation of Mary Academy. Jana also was a collegiate rower for 4 years on the Ithaca College Crew Team, and continues to enjoy sculling and kayaking when she has time to herself.

Outside of her professional life, Jana loves spending time with her 2 daughters, husband, and their dog, Mugsy. Whether it is hiking or being at the beach, Jana loves being surrounded by nature and sharing that love with her family.
