Theater and Music

What’s your teaching philosophy?

I believe that the Theater and Music classrooms are places where the imagination has dominion and this access to creativity is a vital component to a well-rounded sense of self. Artists have always been, and will continue to be, valuable contributors to humanity and it’s of the utmost importance to help provide young artists with a framework by which to express themselves. I believe it is equally vital to bring these fantastic modes of self-expression to every young impressionable mind whether they pursue the arts or not.

What excites you about The Academy at Penguin Hall?

What excites me most about the Academy at Penguin Hall is the opportunity to build a Theater and Music program and the school itself. The blank canvas is the most exciting thing for an artist and an educator to have access to. I am excited to help create a space where these young women can use their imaginations to the fullest extent. The types of programs I envision at The Academy at Penguin Hall include: acapella, a rock band, chorus, drama, musicals and other performing arts.

I have lived in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles in the last 10 years. Before that, I lived in Massachusetts. I am elated to be moving home from LA to join the founding faculty at Penguin Hall.
