What is your teaching philosophy?

Students come to the classroom with knowledge that is informed by their experiences — they have beliefs about the way the world works. Learning happens when those beliefs can be honored, explored, and challenged in ways that lead students to expand upon their ideas and adjust their current understanding. My goal is to encourage students to be comfortable with confusion, inspired by curiosity, and excited by the active exploration of new ideas.

What excites you about The Academy at Penguin Hall?

The simple answer is EVERYTHING!! I am excited by the future-focused, project-based interdisciplinary curriculum that has been developed here at The Academy. I cannot wait to work with the all of the smart and enthusiastic teachers who are on board here. Most of all I am excited to be working with the bright, engaged, and curious young women who attend this wonderful institution. Amazing things are happening at The Academy at Penguin Hall!
