Athletics
Our Athletics Program builds skills, cultivates discipline, and promotes teamwork toward a common goal — lessons that transfer in and beyond the classroom, and last a lifetime.
The Academy at Penguin Hall participates in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) and offers athletic opportunities all year long:
- Fall Sports: Soccer Junior Varsity and Varsity, Volleyball Junior Varsity and Varsity, Cross Country Junior Varsity and Varsity, Mountain Biking (co-op with St. John’s Prep), Crew (co-op with Gordon College)
- Winter Sports: Basketball Varsity
- Spring Sports: Softball, Track & Field Junior Varsity and Varsity, Tennis Junior Varsity and Varsity, Lacrosse Junior Varsity and Varsity,
- Mountain Biking (co-op with St. John’s Prep), Crew (co-op with Gordon College)
All students are required to participate in at least one season of competitive sport or commit to one season of athletics in the fitness center. Team practice is held daily after school from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., excepting game days.
Our athletic offerings are driven by the student body and their interests and commitment to each sport. As our student body grows, our athletic opportunities are also likely to evolve. Contact our Director of Athletics with any questions.
“I had the pleasure of watching the Academy at Penguin Hall take on our girls varsity basketball team… . I wanted to take a minute to tell you how genuinely impressed I was with your team and coaches. The girls were so supportive and encouraging of each other and the coach led with heart. His positivity and encouragement was fantastic, pushing them all to try their best… and simply have fun… It was really wonderful to watch.”
