Latin II

Prerequisite: Latin I or satisfactory placement exam results
Latin II begins with a review of the material covered in first-year Latin and progresses further in the study of Latin grammar, including the remaining noun declensions, the passive voice, the subjunctive mood, and indirect speech. We work in Unit 2 and Unit 3 of the Cambridge Latin Course. Grammar and vocabulary are emphasized, together with the ongoing study of Roman culture, geography, and history. We will read supplementary texts, as time allows. The National Latin Exam is taken in the third quarter.
