The Academy at Penguin Hall’s Music Program provides a diverse and enriching music experience to empower young women to be leaders in music.
Students learn to apply their creative and technical skills in both the classroom, in a variety of ensembles, and through numerous performance opportunities at the school and in the community.
Programs are designed for all levels of students, which allows more advanced students to act as section leaders and mentors for beginning students. The music program also offers classes in dance, choreography, and other areas, so that all students interested in music can participate in our programs.
A sample of music classes offered in our Program of Study are:
- Music Theory & Ear Training
- Women In Music
- Vocal Jazz & Improvisation
- Choreography & Dance
- Music Composition & Film Scoring
Some of our thriving ensembles have already performed in a number of high-profile opportunities, including performing live on 104.9 with Senator Bruce Tarr, performing with The Chieftains at Lynn Auditorium, and performing at the annual sold-out Acapalooza show at Shore Country Day School.
